Auctions are one of the main ways to sell products during live shows on Rwaj. They allow buyers to compete for an item by placing bids in real time, helping create an engaging and interactive shopping experience.
This guide explains how to start and manage an auction during your live show.
Before You Start an Auction
Before running an auction, make sure:
- Your product has already been created in My Products or you can add it in the livestream.
- The product has been added to your live show.
- The listing type is set to Auction.
- You are currently live or ready to start your live show.
Preparing your products in advance helps your show run more smoothly and makes it easier for buyers to participate.
What Happens During an Auction?
When you start an auction, buyers can place bids on the item in real time.
For each auction, you can configure:
- The starting bid price
- The auction duration
As buyers place bids, the price increases automatically. When the timer reaches zero, the highest bidder wins the item. If no bids are placed, the item remains unsold and can be offered again later.
Start an Auction During Your Show
To start an auction:
- Open your live show.
- Select the product you want to sell.
- Choose Start Auction.
- Set the starting price.
- Set the auction duration.
- Tap Start.
The auction will immediately appear to viewers, allowing them to begin placing bids.
Monitor Bidding Activity
While the auction is running, you can view:
- The current highest bid
- The remaining time
- The leading bidder
Monitoring bidding activity allows you to engage with viewers and keep the auction moving.
After an Auction Ends
When the auction timer ends:
- The highest bidder wins the item.
- The order is created automatically.
- The buyer's payment method is charged.
- The order appears in your seller dashboard for fulfillment.
If no bids are placed, the item will not be sold and can be offered again during the same show or in a future show.
Tips for Successful Auctions
To create a better auction experience:
- Clearly show the product before starting the auction.
- Explain important product details and condition.
- Choose a starting price that matches the product's value.
- Ensure your camera, lighting, and audio are clear throughout the auction.
Good product presentations can help buyers feel more confident when placing bids.
